Review:

Joanne has always been an awesome guitarist, leaving many of her British rivals in the shade when it comes to that gritty Albert King/Albert Collins string-bending stuff, and she is now taking centre stage at the head of a splendid young trio. This was particularly effective tonight on Hendrix-derived material where they achieved a powerful dynamic. She also performed her own material with style and panache, featuring her sultry rapidly-developing vocals and fluid guitar work. She has come of age as a performer and her impressive trio is set to make quite a splash when they open August’s River & Blues Festival.
